Dying Too Much In Allods Online

Today I was pretty frustrated playing Allods Online.  I am just level 10, and moved out of the city, and out to the next area.  I picked up all the available quests, and headed towards my first one in the new area.

This is when the frustration starting setting in.  I was finding it very difficult to kill mobs with my Mage.  I was either surviving with less than 100 health, or dying repeatedly.  It felt like I was spending more time in Purgatory than out leveling.

I could understand if I was attempting to kill mobs five levels above me, but to have close battles every time with even conned mobs just seemed insane.  I am a Mage, and I feel I should be doing enough damage to kill mobs quickly enough to not be getting hit repeatedly.

I know the Entropy is supposed to be somewhere around 70/30, but it seems the reverse.  Most of the time I die because it stopped me from casting, takes away health, or mana.  I rarely see the beneficial side where I gain health, mana, or faster casting times.  What good is faster casting times if it is just going to backfire, and kill you anyways?

It gets really dangerous because once your health gets low it feels like you are playing the lottery, or gambling.  You are too scared to use your best spells because if it backfires it means you will probably die.

It also makes leveling very, very slow.  I spend more time trying to regain health between mobs.  I would buy some food, or bandages but I can't seem to find any outside of the city.  It should be able to be bought at all the quest hubs.

I feel like right now that the only way to level up is to always team up with someone.  The faster you kill the least likely the mob will hit either one of you.

It just scares me to think that the next patch they want to increase the health of mobs, and the damage they do.  How am I going to even survive that?

Is anyone else feeling the same way, or am I doing something wrong?

Shutting Off Zone Chat in Allods Online

I was so happy when I learned how to shut off zone chat in Allods Online.  The gold spam was about to drive me to ragequit.  It was frustrating to not be able to read party chat, tells, or anything without it scrolling off the screen in milliseconds.

It is actually a real easy fix to remove zone chat.  In your chat window just right click on General.  You will see a checkbox to remove zone chat.  Just click on it to remove, and instantly you will get your sanity back.

Precasting In Allods Online

I just discovered Precasting for my Mage in Allods Online.  I love it already.  You can't beat being able to precast a fire spell making it almost like a instacast spell.

Time To Fire Up My Shredder On Steroids for Warhammer Online February Producers Letter

The new producers letter for Warhammer Online for February was released on the Herald.  It immediately prompted me to inject my shredder with a full dose of steroids to shred it to pieces.  Once again I feel like the letter lacks any real substance, and is 1600 words that could be summarized in one about one or two sentences.

Producer Musical Chairs

It seems like Warhammer Online introduces a new producer every month now.  They seem to be changing producers every time you turn around.  Is that really reassuring to the players?  I can't see how changing producers can be beneficial in getting things done.

Could you imagine if we had a new President of the U.S. every month?  Everyone has different ideas, and every time a new producer comes how many things of the previous producer get thrown out?

Social Media Communication Via Twitter

They say they are opening the lines of communication with social media by using Twitter more.  Hopefully it isn't retweeting the same video for 12 days in a row.  Currently the Mythic team I follow rarely posts anything about the game.  I love the relationship building, and getting to know the devs better, but I would like to see more game related stuff.

Is it really that top secret to say on Twitter that today I am adding new categories to the auction house, removing useless stats from Warlord gear and adding stats players want, or something of that nature?

Stupid Contests

Someone give me a double dose of a sedative.  I am supposed to get excited about a contest to add loading screen tips with our name credited?  Is this really your idea of something fun for players?

Fixing Old Bugs

They are going to fix bugs.  Is this going to make me keep subscribing?  I agree that bugs are annoying, but bug fixing should be part of the every day job.   I am glad you are finally getting around to fixing year old bugs.

Keeping The Game Fresh

I love the part about keeping the game play fresh with the new scenario structure.  How is it keeping it fresh with the removal of so many scenarios?

Adding RvR to City Sieges

They mention adding RvR to the city sieges.  How long have they been saying that now?  I personally find the RvR extremely boring in city sieges.  What is the point of killing someone 500 times for no renown, or splitting renown 48 ways between two warbands.  After the first 15 minutes the city siege rvr is pointless, and boring.

Ironclad 6v6 Scenario

I think the Ironclad will eventually turn into a wasteland.  I think only premades will queue up for it eventually.  It may give some 6 mans pride, but eventually it will never pop.  It offers nothing more than a normal scenario. I really see nothing that exciting about it.  It is like the rest of the scenarios.

Fixing the Economy and Auction House

Is the auction house really the problem of the economy?  I am sorry but taking time to change the auction house isn't going to fix the economy.  You need to fix the core reasons why the economy sucks.  You need more players playing the game.  Most rvr sets are pretty easy to acquire so it makes almost anything you sell worthless on the auction house.  Players only buy two things on the auction house which are potions, and talismans.  Everything else in the game is garbage, and isn't worth the extra 50 silver you could make instead of vendoring it.  The next problem is there really isn't anything to spend money on in the game anyways.

Armor Redesign

I only saw one thing in this whole producers letter that actually sounded good.  It is the armor redesign.  Does that mean fixing the stats to what players want instead of having to pve to get +crit gear?  Maybe what it means is just changing the looks of the armor which would just be a waste of time, and was why she said they may just scrap the idea.

I Love Allods Online Fatigue

What is fatigue? In Allods Online it doubles your current xp you are earning similar to rested xp in other mmorpg's.  If you earn 27 xp for killing a rat you will also earn another 27 xp of fatigue.  You have to visit an innkeeper to spend your fatigue, and there is a cap limit every day.

I love the fatigue system in Allods Online.  Have you ever been at a certain level, and you just wish that level was over already?  You can now save up your fatigue for times like these.  It is a huge motivator for me.  I can get 75% into a level, and decide to cash out my fatigue.  Most of the time it not only pushes me to the next level, but 25% into that next level.  The beginning, and end of levels are always the hardest for me, and now with fatigue it makes it easy.

I also love the fatigue system in Allods Online because it rewards you for playing the game.  In most other mmorpg's you only earn bonus xp when you are logged off.  I no longer have to avoid logging in for a few days to build bonus xp to help grind out a few bubbles of xp.

The fatigue also helps with breaking up your day in Allods Online.  If you have already reached your fatigue cap for the day it is best to move on to something else in the game.  It is a good time to do some crafting, buy and sell items on the auction house, play an alt, or whatever.  It could also be a signal to log off for the day, and do other things outside of the game.

Do you like the fatigue in Allods Online?

Allods Online Community Is Growing

It feels like the community for Allods Online is growing.  At least it seems that way to me.  Tonight while I was playing I saw more signs that people are enjoying Allods.

A very noticeable thing about the community are guilds are popping up everywhere.  It is a sign that players are making a longer term commitment to Allods Online.  I believe that guilds are what helps makes a game successful by creating a great community.

I see more, and more players helping each other out in chat answering questions, forming groups, and etc.

I saw many rep grinding raid groups being formed tonight.  The first day it seemed everyone was out for themselves.

I look forward to the community in the game continuing to grow as each day goes by.  I still love playing Allods Online, and would still recommend friends, coworkers, and even strangers to play it.

Allods Online Needs Your Ideas and Feedback

Allods Online is taking this last weekend pretty seriously.  They have decided to listen to player feedback, and suggestions on how to make the cash shop better.

This is your chance to voice your opinion on how you want Allods Online to change for the better.  Let them know the prices you are willing to pay, items you hate, items you love, other things in the game you would like, or have removed.

If you have a better idea for Fear of Death let them know.  They are willing to change things, and now is our chance.

You can visit the Allods Online Feedback thread, and submit your input.

Allods Online Increasing XP Requirements 20-40

How greedy can Allods Online get?  First it is the cash shop, and now they are increasing the experience requirement from 20-40.  If that isn't bad enough they also increased the health of mobs, and the damage they do to you in the next patch.

There is only one motive for Allods Online to do this.  They are greedy.  It is all about making money, and you spending it in the cash shop.  They want to increase the odds that people will have to buy more perfumes, and die more often.

How much more money will it cost players with these changes to Allods Online?

Is this really the right approach?  I think what Allods Online doesn't realize is the players have no investment in this game.  It will be much easier for people to walk away from the game, and not think twice about it.

I just don't understand it.  I would think it would be better to have a million players buying stuff from the cash store at lower profits, than everyone ragequitting.  How much money are you going to make with perfumes if only 75,000 players stick around?

If it was my business I would rather sell one million $5 bags, than seventy five thousand $20 bags.  The math is real easy.  You either make five million, or you make 1.5 million.  Which would you do?

Allods Online Mounts

It looks like mounts are coming to Allods Online.  They will require food to perform at faster speeds that must be bought from the cash shop.

I am really trying to avoid spending any money in the cash shop so hopefully food will be able to be bought with in game money too, or they still work normally without food.

Allods Online Addons

With all the Allods Online bad publicity over the weekend with their cash shop I did actually read some good news.  After reviewing the Russian patch notes it looks like using addons will be enabled the next patch.

Addons in MMORPG's have almost become a requirement, or a necessity to play.  I can't wait to see what comes out for Allods Online.

Fear of Death In Allods Online

Are you afraid of dying in a MMORPG?  If not you will in the free to play MMORPG Allods Online.  I guess the devs have decided to implement a pretty harsh system for dying in the game.  This is for all the hardcore players that always complain that death means nothing in MMORPG's these days.

Basically the Fear of Death is a rez sickness.  It decreases your offensive stats by 25%.  It is stackable up to four times which means your offensive skills could be decreased by 100%.  It begins at level 15, and by the time you reach level 40 it lasts for 51 minutes.

You can avoid the Fear of Death currently by always having a perfume on, or paying gold to remove it in the game.  The best way to avoid dealing with the Fear of Death is just don't die.

Is the Fear of Death an incentive to be a better player?  Does it make you not take crazy risks like in Warcraft, or Warhammer if you die it's no big deal?

I like the idea myself, but it seems to be hated by most of the playerbase.  Do they hate it because Warcraft, and Warhammer made dying so easy?  Are players not happy because they are used to easy mode where they could just keep dying until eventually they beat a boss?

I know I really hate the instant rez in pvp in Warhammer, and Warcraft.  I really do think you need to spend some time in Purgatory thinking about your death.  I think it will make everyone better players, and pvpers.

Is the Fear of Death mechanic a zerg killer?  I think it may finally remove zergs from the game.  No one is going to enjoy zerging, and taking one for the team.

I really hope they keep the Fear of Death mechanic in the game.  It will make boss kills, and pvp much more important.

What do you think of the Fear of Death in Allods Online?  Is it to harsh, or just right?  How would you change it?

Allods Online Cash Shop Is Making Players Ragequit

The Allods Online cash shop went live today.  I have never seen so many angry people.  The forums are blowing up about the pricing.

The devs keep stating that a person who spends $500, and someone who spends $5 in the Allods Online Cash Shop will be equal.  They keep saying the cash shop isn't necessary to play the game.  I keep hearing from players that it is necessary to enjoy the game.

I was a little surprised today myself at the pricing.  A 24 slot backpack costs 2000 potatoes.  In the cash shop 2000 potatoes costs $20 in real cold hard cash.  Is a backpack that offers 6 more slots than what you normally have in the game worth that?  I don't see myself buying one.  I can live with my default 18 slot backpack.

The biggest outrage is buying perfumes.  Perfumes are a potion buff that lasts an hour that keeps you from getting the fear of death penalty.  The fear of death basically reduces your stats by 25%, and it lasts for up to an hour at level 40.  It is a very long lasting rez sickness.  With the perfume you can rez with no fear of death rez sickness.

The cost of the perfumes is pretty outrageous.  It is basically $1.35 an hour to have this buff on you at all times.  If you are a hardcore raider that plays 40 hours a week is the game really worth paying $50 a week to play a free game?  The good part is you can buy them in game with your game money, or pay gold to use Myhr to remove the sickness.

There are plenty of other potions, keys, and etc you can purchase on the cash shop also.  With those current prices I will not be spending any money in the cash shop.  I will live with what I earn in the game.  I made a small visual video of the cash shop for anyone interested in seeing how it works.

Funniest Troll Post on Allods Online Forums

I know this had to be a troll post, and a good one at that.  I found this gem on the Allods Online forums today.

How do I pause this game?

I have looked everywhere, clicked on everything to try to pause the game.

Allods Online Ships Are Cool

After I saw my first ship on Allods Online it just motivated me even more to play this game.  This has to be hands down the coolest thing ever in a MMORPG.   I cannot wait to experience it myself.

Allods Online is My New MMORPG

I suggest everyone play Allods Online.  It is a very addicting MMORPG.  Who would of ever thought that a free to play MMORPG would be so much fun?

I am enjoying myself tremendously in this game.  It has been a long time since I have played an MMORPG that makes me lose hours of my life without even realizing it.  I spent many hours in the game today, and I just wanted to keep doing quests, and playing Allods until my fingers started blistering.

I just kept telling myself just one more quest than I will log off, and than it was one more, and one more.  I couldn't get myself to log off.  Unlike some MMORPG's that have come out recently you don't seem to run out of quests.  It seems I complete 2-3 quests, and the next thing you know I found 5-6 more to do.

I would highly recommend downloading, and playing Allods Online.  You won't be disappointed.

My First Hour of Playing Allods Online

I have to say I am really impressed with my first hour of playing Allods Online.  I love the graphics, and the game seems to be easy to figure stuff out.  It has a World of Warcraft flavor to it so that may be why it feels like you already know how to do everything.

I definitely see myself continuing to play Allods Online.  It is always fun, and exciting to play a game at launch.  It is like the first day back to school after summer break.   I just need to find myself a guild with some ventrilo, and I will be golden.

I took a quick video of me playing the first hour in Allods Online.   Be ready for some serious eye candy with the graphics in this game.  I had my video settings at very highest with running Fraps, and still getting over 70 FPS.  Be sure to watch this Allods Online video in full HD settings.

I am playing Allods Online

I am pretty excited to check out Allods Online today for the first time.  I have updated my game files, and will be spamming my play button in just a few more hours.  Open beta starts at 11am pacific time today.

It is going to be interesting to see how the cash shop works on the game since the game is free, and also no monthly subscriptions.  Will I be spending more than $15 a month to compete?

I have barely done any research on the game.  Will that backfire on me?  Will others have a competitive advantage?

It always feels like a new game is easier when everyone is basically playing the game for the first time.  I hate going into a game a few years after launch with no one to ask questions, or get help from since starting areas are like ghost towns.

I don't even know exactly what class I am going to play.  My mind is saying caster for the PvP, but I have always liked a healer when leveling up in PvE.

Anyways it should be fun to be in a new game with lots of people excited about playing.  These next few hours will probably take forever to come.

Orvr in Warhammer is Still Boring

Over the weekend I played quite a bit of Warhammer.  It was probably my biggest dose of Warhammer in a very long time.  I finally wanted to hit renown rank 65 so I could wear my second piece of Warlord.  I am tired of looking at my set in the bank, and not being able to wear it.

I initially decided to join some Orvr.  I remember it being the most enjoyable when I played on Dark Crag.  It seemed like renown rolled in like crazy from what I remember.

I have a different take on it now that I am playing on Gorfang.  It is slow, and boring.  I forgot about all the sitting around, and waiting for a zone to flip.  The bonus renown for a zone flipping is hardly worth it.  My renown bar was moving slower than a slug in a salt bed.

I decided after a few zone flips that I was bored to tears.  I went to the city siege, and we reached stage 2.  This was actually depressing.  This is where I felt leaving the game has put me behind instead of being the best geared.  The King is on farm, but I don't have my renown high enough to equip my Warlord to work on getting my Sovereign.

I decided to log off until the siege was over.  I logged back on later, and decided to join some scenarios.  I used to hate scenarios, but it seems to be the most enjoyable for me right now.

It seemed like my renown bar was on steroids once I started doing scenarios.  It was amazing how fast I reached renown rank 65.  It probably would of even been faster if I was in a premade guild group, but right now I am still running solo with no guild tag.

Tiger Woods Golf MMORPG

This is so weird.  It was just last week that I was talking about EA, or some company to start making a sports MMORPG.  After following Paul Barnett on Twitter I saw him tweet about playing Tiger Woods Golf Online.  I figured I would go to the site, and check it out.

It is simply amazing.  EA is calling it a MMORPG golf game.  Finally, a sports game with a MMORPG feel.  This is going to be just a starting point I think for EA where they take their sports franchises to the next level, and turn them into successful MMORPG's.

You can create your own golfer, and just like an MMORPG your golfer gains levels the better you play.  You play tournaments, and are able to chat with players just like an MMORPG.  Is this a guys dream come true?  It is like having your cake, and eating too.  What guy wouldn't like to play an MMORPG sports game?

I am a huge golf fan myself, but actually never played the game myself.  I have always wanted too, and now EA has just made a lifelong dream of mine come true.  It is just exciting to me.

It is unfortunate though with the whole Tiger Woods scandal.  Will it not be successful just because of his name being on the title?  I think people will eventually forgive him.  How can you not forgive a guy who means so much to golf?

Anyways I suggest you check out this new Tiger Woods Golf MMORPG.  It is browser based, and is free.  It is currently in beta.

The thing that surprises me the most is with all the player data they have from their MMORPG's like UO, WAR, SWTOR beta signups, and etc that they haven't used it to market this new golf MMORPG.

Check Stats Of Other Players with Aion Liveviewer While Playing Aion

My friend Hoschi over on his Aion blog has done it again.  He has made this great program called Liveviewer that runs while playing Aion so you can do a quick search of players.  It lets you see all their armor and stats without alt-tabbing out.  It is a must have for any PvPer that plays Aion.

Sovereign Gear Dropping Last Night On Gorfang

I saw it with my own eyes.  I decided to play some scenarios for a few hours last night in Warhammer.  I don't even remember the guild now, but they dropped three pieces of Sovereign gear in one scenario.

I think it was my first time of ever seeing it drop off players except for on the PTS.  It was a good feeling.

The part I didn't understand was how Order was rolling over these guys.  It didn't look like an Order premade going against a Destruction premade.

I think it is pretty sad if you are RR80, and you can't even win scenarios.  I guess it just goes to show you that RR80 is nothing about skill, but the ability to RvDoor, and spend the most time in the game collecting renown.

Another scenario I saw quite a bit of Warlord gear dropping off of guys.  It looks like people are continuing to play their toons these days after hitting RR80 instead of rolling the credits, and starting a new toon.

I must of been lucky yesterday.  It seemed every scenario Order was dominating.  I saw some pretty good renown numbers on the scoreboard.  I guess more and more players are worth alot of renown these days.  I saw one guy get over 12k renown in one scenario.  That used to be unheard of.  Players used to be happy with a 3-5k renown gain in scenarios.

My luck started running out around Midnight, and I started getting in scenarios with sub 40's, and going against Arsenal.  That is a lose-lose situation.  Arsenal has so far been the most impressive Destruction guild I have run across.

Wasdstomp is Buzzed

No I am not drunk, or high.  I am buzzing from the new social media Google Buzz.  I created my profile today, and you can now follow Wasdstomp, and get buzzed yourself.

Exploiting In A MMORPG

Exploiting has been a hot topic the last few days in the MMORPG blogging world.   In World of Warcraft the top raiding guild Ensidia was banned, and the achievement removed for the Lich King World First Kill.

It seems everyone has a different idea on what exploiting is, and what isn't considered an exploit.  The dictionary definition of exploiting is different than the way most players interpret it in a MMORPG.

Exploiting to me is pretty cut, and dry.

If you are playing the game just like the other players, and you figure something out I don't consider it exploiting.  I figure the players actually used problem solving skills to figure out a viable strategy.  They should be rewarded, and not punished.

I know many people said it became exploiting when they sent the rogue in there several times to test it out.  How is that exploiting?  Isn't that just seeing if your strategy will work before using it in your raid?

If achievements were not in the game would have Blizzard taken the same action?  I think it would have been handled differently.  Do you really treat your best players like they did?  I think Blizzard owes them an apology.

I think exploiting is using outside programs to change how your character reacts in the game.  I am not talking about authorized addons, but programs like Warbuddy, Radar, or Aimbots.  These programs to me are actually what an exploit is.  You are giving your character abilities that can't be achieved with normal gameplay, and giving you a competitive advantage that other players can't do.

Exploiting is being able to walk through walls, triple your health bar, double your damage, find enemies, one shot headkill players.  If it is only achievable with an extra program running in the background of your computer while you play than it is definitely exploiting.

EA Loses $82 Million will Warhammer Online Survive?

Today EA posted their third quarter results.  They show a loss of 82 million dollars.  How long will EA keep losing money?  How will they return to be profitable again?  How much money is Warhammer Online losing, or making every quarter?

Every time I see EA posting losses it worries me.  What is going to make them just decide one day they are closing Warhammer Online?  Is it Warhammer Online that is causing the losses?

I would hate for Warhammer Online to totally disappear, but if they keep posting million dollar losses every quarter they will do what it takes to cut their losses.

Unfortunately even with some current updates to Warhammer Online I am not sure it isn't already in maintenance mode, or will be very soon.  It doesn't really sound like Warhammer Online is part of EA's future income stream.

EA also announced all title releases for 2011.  No mention of any Warhammer Online expansions.  A MMORPG can't just keep going without content updates, and expansions.

Another thing I noticed is SWTOR isn't even mentioned as being released in 2011.  Is it possible for EA to pull the plug on it even though it is so highly anticipated?

Superbowl MMORPG

With the Superbowl being played yesterday it started making me think would it be possible to make a football MMORPG? How about Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, or Tennis MMORPG?

Could it work? Your character would play a position instead of being a class like a mage, warrior, or healer. You would play a quarterback, cornerback, wide receiver, running back, pitcher, catcher, power forward, point guard, or whatever position.

The Sports MMORPG would be all player controlled characters. It would be like really playing on a team.

I think it could be really fun to play a Superbowl, World Series, or whatever championship game MMORPG.

Please feel free to leave a comment about playing a Superbowl MMORPG, or any other Sports MMORPG. Do you think it would be possible to make an MMORPG based on sports? Howling Gorge Scenario Was Fun

I am really going to miss the Howling Gorge Scenario. I am not sure how the decision was reached to remove this one.

I always thought there were great fights in this scenario. I liked how there really wasn't chokepoints so you could always find a way to attack.

I liked how most of the fights happened in the middle. It left you going up your ramp, or going around to take them out from their back lines. It also had the bridges you could take to come in from the sides.

I liked how you could use LOS, and the ramps as strategies. You could hide behind bushes, rocks, trees, and still fire away as a caster.

The only part I didn't care about was running the keg. It probably would of been better with a capture the flag mechanic like Temple of Isha, or Doomfist Crater.

Is Tor Anroc Scenario Really That Fun?

I know I have read that alot of people are upset that the Tor Anroc Scenario is going away.  Was it really that fun?  What made it fun for you?  Why do you think it would be a great scenario to keep?

I have mixed feelings on the scenario myself.  I liked it in some ways, and hated it in other ways.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed throwing people in the lava.  It was quite amusing actually.   It was not quite as entertaining as mind controlling people in the lava in World of Warcraft, but it ran a close second.

I can't say I enjoyed it when it happened to me.  It was actually rather annoying.  It wasn't annoying because I died because I don't care about that, but the long run back to the action sucked big time.

I hated getting thrown in the lava when over by the other factions spawnpoint.  Each death was than magnified because you would lose valuable renown taking 3 minutes to run all the way back to where all the action was.

I also hated accidentally aggroing a guard, and dying at the spawn point too.  It would just make you want to ragequit the Tor Anroc scenario right there.

I personally will sort of miss Tor Anroc, but not really.  I won't be losing any sleep over it that is for sure.

Please feel free to leave a comment about the Tor Anroc Scenario being removed from Warhammer Online.  I appreciate every comment my readers leave, and reply to all comments.  Be sure to follow me on Twitter, and subscribe to my free RSS Feed to become part of the Wasdstomp Community.

World of Warcraft Auction House on your Smartphone

What will Blizzard think of next?  They really are on top of technology trends.  It is like they are always ahead of the game on what players want.  It is why their next MMORPG will probably blow everyone away, and exceed everyone's expectations.

It will be nice for all the players who like to farm the auction house.  Now you will be able to do it while at work, on a lunch break, stuck in the airport, or wherever.  I think it will be fun, and can't wait to try it out.  It will be like a mini-game to play when you can't be in-game.  Even if there is a monthly subscription for it I would do it.

How about all those times you look on the Auction House for a certain item.  It is never on there.  What if you received a text alert that someone posted it?  You could than buy the item instead of getting home to find out that a guildmate saw it, but it sold already.

Would you be able to check multiple servers, and eventually find it on another server to buy it?  I see endless possibilities on how this could really take the auction house on World of Warcraft to the next level.

It could also have a negative impact too.  What if the auction house farming goes out of control, and prices just start skyrocketing.  What if someone buys certain items instantly, and they are never available to buy for people just only using the auction house in game.

Will it give the gold selling sites just one more thing to sell as a service to players?  Could they control the market, and buy things on other servers cheap, transfer toons, and sell them higher on other servers?  Would they be able to farm the auction house easier with multiple accounts offline with their smartphones?

Please feel free to leave a comment about how you think this new auction house feature will affect World of Warcraft.  I appreciate every comment my readers leave, and reply to all comments.  Be sure to follow me on Twitter, and subscribe to my free RSS Feed to become part of the Wasdstomp Community.

Highpass Cemetary Scenario in Warhammer Online

I love the Highpass Cemetary Scenario in Warhammer Online.  It was always one of my favorites.  I am now glad I can play it in Tier 4.  Why do I love this scenario so much?

The main reason I love the Highpass Cemetary Scenario is it is always fast to get back in the action when you die.  The scenario is relatively small, and I think its design makes for some great battles.

Basically you have two altars on each side of the scenario.  You are trying to control both so once you have one it causes both factions to head across to the other.  You always have a battle in the middle to get to the other side.

It is just great pvp all around.  I have never witnessed spawn camping in it, and just because of that I rank it up there as one of my top 5 all time favorite scenarios.

My Life was Threatened Today from a Commenter on my Blog

Today I unfortunately received several anonymous threats to my life from one particular commenter today.  It really makes me nervous since I have my picture, name, and city on my blog.  It wouldn't be that hard for someone to actually track me down.

I reported the IP address to the FBI, and the local authorities just in case that Disqus automatically captures.  I actually also contacted Comcast since it shows the IP address is supplied from Comcast.  I am not sure exactly what else to do.

Has this ever happened to any other bloggers, and what did you do?

Warhammer Online Removes My Favorite Scenarios

I was really happy when I first read about removing the scenarios that players hated.  After reading the patch notes today I wonder was it really based on players favorites?

How could you remove Serpent's Passage?  I always thought every player loved that scenario.  I remember it being the only scenario that ever popped in Tier 4 the first few months.  It was so popular they had to force us to queue for others.  Was it really unpopular, or did it have more to do with that zone usually always being locked so it never spawned?  I tend to believe because it was always locked, and not that players hated it.

Tor Anroc being removed is stupid.  It also was a favorite of most players.  Who didn't enjoy throwing other players in the lava?  How could it be considered a scenario players didn't enjoy?

Are you serious?  You removed Temple of Isha?  I loved that scenario.  It was fun trying to control the flag.  There were so many tactics, and I thought the RvR was great in that scenario.

Once again how could you not like Caledor Woods?  I always thought it offered some great fights since everyone would fight for control over the center flag.

How about Doomfist Crater?  I loved that scenario back around launch.  Why does it seem all the scenarios that had a capture the flag objective have been removed?

I am going to miss Gromril's Crossing.  I thought with the different objectives it was a great scenario.

The one thing that I do see that all the scenarios they removed had in common was spawn camping.  I am sure that is why most of them went away.  It is going to be sad seeing alot of them going bye-bye.  Of course they say they will be back for certain events which could make them pretty exciting.

I would love to see a weekly Scenario weekend sort of like World of Warcraft.  I always enjoyed that when I played.

Lastly I have to give Mythic, and Warhammer Online a huge applaud in getting rid of scenarios I hated with a passion like Blackfire Basin, Dragon's Bane, Thunder Valley, Blood of the Cairn, and some others.

Please feel free to leave a comment about the removal of some of my favorite scenarios in Warhammer Online.  I appreciate every comment my readers leave, and reply to all comments.  Be sure to follow me on Twitter, and subscribe to my free RSS Feed to become part of the Wasdstomp Community.

My first day back to Warhammer Online

I have to say I felt a little lost today on my first day back in Warhammer Online. It doesn't help going back to the game without knowing anyone. I just joined a few random warbands, and followed the zerg.

As soon as I logged in today we were minutes away from sieging the Inevitable City. It felt just like old times on Dark Crag, but now I am on Gorfang.

I participated in the city siege. I know there have been some changes, but it looked the same to me for the most part. It was still just killing the same people over and over for no renown after the first fifteen minutes.

I really hope some day that diminished renown is removed from city sieges. It isn't much fun killing Destruction and seeing the message This player has been killed recently, and is worth reduced renown.

After the city flipped back I did a few scenarios. It was sort of fun, but for the most part Order was being slaughtered.

I really need to find a guild. I was surprised that the two or three hours I played today, and not one guild invite. It used to be that if you left a guild you would be spammed with guild invites all day long.

I definitely realized today that playing Warhammer without Ventrilo is boring. It is another reason I need to find a guild. The random chit chat with guild members helps reduce the boredom, and pass the time.

Does anyone know some good Order guilds on Gorfang?

I need to find a new guild so I can ask questions, find out exactly what has changed, and etc. Feeling lost in a game is no fun, and I really want to give Warhammer a second chance.
